Peer Review Process

JRPM: Jurnal Riset Pecinta Matematika employs a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the research we publish. Our peer review process is designed to provide fair, unbiased, and constructive feedback to authors while maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence.

Submission and Initial Screening

  1. Manuscript Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. Manuscripts must adhere to the journal's guidelines and formatting requirements.
  2. Initial Screening: The editorial team conducts an initial screening to ensure that the manuscript fits within the journal's scope and meets basic quality standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are returned to the authors without further review.

Peer Review

  1. Reviewer Selection: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their knowledge, experience, and ability to provide unbiased and constructive feedback.
  2. Double-Blind Review: JRPM employs a double-blind review process, where the identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept confidential. This ensures impartiality and fairness in the review process.
  3. Review Criteria: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:
    • Originality and significance of the research
    • Clarity and coherence of the presentation
    • Soundness of methodology and analysis
    • Relevance and accuracy of references
    • Contribution to the field of mathematics or mathematics education

Reviewer Reports

  1. Review Feedback: Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations for the manuscript. They may suggest acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection based on their evaluation.
  2. Decision Making: The editorial team considers the reviewers' reports and makes a decision on the manuscript. Possible decisions include:
    • Accepted: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further revisions.
    • Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor changes before it can be accepted.
    • Major Revisions: The manuscript requires substantial changes and must undergo another round of review.
    • Rejected: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.

Revision and Final Decision

  1. Author Revisions: If revisions are required, authors are given the opportunity to address the reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript. The revised manuscript is then re-evaluated by the reviewers or the editorial team.
  2. Final Decision: Based on the revised manuscript and reviewers' feedback, the editorial team makes a final decision on acceptance or rejection.

Publication

  1. Proofreading: Once a manuscript is accepted, it undergoes proofreading to correct any typographical or formatting errors.
  2. Online Publication: The final version of the manuscript is published online in the next available issue of JRPM.

Transparency and Communication

  • Timely Process: JRPM strives to complete the peer review process in a timely manner to ensure that authors receive prompt feedback.
  • Communication: Authors are kept informed of the status of their manuscript throughout the review process. They are encouraged to contact the editorial team with any questions or concerns.

Ethical Considerations

  • Confidentiality: All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential documents.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

By adhering to this rigorous peer review process, JRPM ensures the publication of high-quality research that contributes to the advancement of mathematics and mathematics education.
