Publication Ethics

JRPM: Jurnal Riset Pecinta Matematika is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring the integrity of the published research. We adhere to the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expect all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to uphold the following principles.

Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism. They should appropriately cite or quote the work and/or words of others.
  2. Data Accuracy and Integrity: Authors are responsible for presenting accurate and reliable data. Falsification, fabrication, or selective reporting of data is unethical and unacceptable.
  3. Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors must properly acknowledge all sources of data and information used in their research.
  4. Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors.
  5. Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
  6. Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently.

Responsibilities of Editors

  1. Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which articles should be published based on the manuscript’s quality and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  2. Fair Play: Manuscripts should be evaluated based on their intellectual content without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
  3. Confidentiality: Editors must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, disclosing information only to the corresponding author, reviewers, and other editorial advisors.
  4. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors should not use unpublished information in their own research without the author's express written consent. Editors must avoid conflicts of interest.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Reviewers assist the editors in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts through constructive feedback.
  2. Promptness: Reviewers should complete their reviews within the stipulated time frame. If unable to meet the deadline, they should inform the editors promptly.
  3. Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shared with others except as authorized by the editors.
  4. Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with no personal criticism of the author. Comments should be clear and constructive.
  5. Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. They should also notify the editors of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published works.
  6. Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

  1. Editorial Independence: The publisher should respect the independence of editorial decisions and support the editors in maintaining ethical standards.
  2. Integrity and Transparency: The publisher is committed to promoting transparency and integrity in the publication process.
  3. Archiving: The publisher ensures that all published content is securely archived and accessible to the public.

Handling Ethical Issues

JRPM takes all allegations of misconduct seriously. In cases of suspected ethical breaches, the journal will follow the COPE guidelines to address the issues promptly and fairly. Actions may include retractions, corrections, or other measures as necessary.

By adhering to these ethical guidelines, JRPM strives to maintain the trust of the academic community and uphold the quality and credibility of the research we publish.
